October 2025 – Mem Saab
The month of October 2025 brought us a long overdue visit to Mem Saab on Vaughan Way in Leicester city centre. Parking was easy using the Highcross multi-story car park immediately over the road.
September 2025 – Cinnamon Central
Cinnamon Central was the venue for our September visit, which is situated on Belvoir Road in Coalville, a former coal mining town in North-West Leicestershire. There is a public car park nearby on James Street which is free of charge in the evenings.
July 2025 – Sams Spice @ Jungle Club
We recently returned to the Jungle Club in Leicester to try Sam’s Spice, now operating in the restaurant area previously visited back in 2017. Back then, under different ownership, the restaurant scored 30.5 and ranked 7th in our annual round-up that year. Sam’s Spice is operated/owned by Samir from Broadway Bar & Grill so I was really looking forward to this visit.

June 2025 – Jaanu Cafe, Thrussington
We had previously been to Jaanu when it was called Spicenick a few years ago, this cafe is a bit like an American Diner, its next door to a hotel on the A46 bypass with plenty of parking outside.
May 2025 – Jashir, Oakham
I had to step in at the last minute to lead this month’s outing, as our usual organiser was delayed with work. We stuck with his already-booked choice – an Indian restaurant in Oakham – and I’m glad we did.
