This month’s trip was back down the Melton Road to visit Daman Samudra which has been established for over 10 years, on the corner of Melton Road and Lancashire Street.
On entering the restaurant, you notice that it looks a little tired, we were greeted and seated on a round table which is unusual for an Indian restaurant. We ordered Kingfisher, Sagres and Guinness again unusual to be offered Guinness or Sagres, but a nice selection of drinks.
We ordered poppadoms and a pickle tray which was promptly replaced after we had finished the first one. We then ordered Toofani Chicken, Tawa Chicken, Lasaniya Chicken and a Chicken Balti, we also had plain rice and mushroom rice, with a plain naan, cheese naan and chilli naan. If I am honest the food was average, no one had a bad meal but as you can see by the scores they came in low.
The bill came to £110 for five people including beers so it was reasonable. There was only one waiter working and surprisingly the service was quick. The toilets seriously need a refresh.
