30.5/40
We headed over to Swannington for our October curry trip, believe it or not our 150th establishment since we started the club back in February 2011.
I chose Chilli “N” Spice as it had some pretty good reviews, and we don’t often get over that side of Leicestershire to frequently.
A licensed restaurant with good parking on the main road from Coalville to Swannington.
We were greeted nicely and seated in a completely empty restaurant. Beers were ordered and came out very cold but unfortunately with no alcohol-free selection. 10 Poppadom’s and a nice selection of pickle trays.
We ordered 1 Mogul Style Lamb, 1 Meta Morchi Murgh, 1 Chicken Jalfrezi (Vindaloo Hot), 1 Anakarali Murgh and a Chicken Tawa (Madras strength)
Rice was Mushroom Pilau and a very nice to see on the menu Coconut rice.
Nans ordered were a plain Nan with no butter or ghee a garlic and tomato Nan and a Peshwari with Honey (unusual but very nice)
All the dishes were served hot and mostly enjoyed however we were slightly disappointed that we were not joined by any further diners during the whole evening!
The scoring panel awarded a score of 30.5 out of 40
