190 Belgrave Road. Leicester LE45AU
34/40
We headed into town for the March visit to “The Balmoral” on the ever-popular Belgrave Road.
A former hotel dating back to 1892 this establishment has now been refurbished to create very nice dining experience along with some large TVs to watch sport on, but please do not think that this is a rowdy sports bar. The combination works very well due to the high-class refurbishment and décor.
We were quite surprised that it was not too busy however it was a Tuesday evening and one of the members has returned on a weekend since our visit and it was extremely busy so do, please make a booking if you are going to try this one.
We were greeted nicely and seated on a very nice table. Beers were ordered and came out very cold and there was an alcohol-free selection. The usual Poppadom’s and a nice selection of pickle trays.
We ordered Karahi Chicken, Tawa Lamb, Chicken Biryani, Chicken Machousi and Lamb Curry on the bone. Plain and Pilau Rice along with Garlic and Coriander Naan and plain Naan were the chosen sundries.
All of the dishes came out hot and were very tasty, I had the Lamb Curry on the bone and it was exceptional, however all members said how much that they had enjoyed their food.
This is really well worth a visit, as you can see it has surpassed all the establishments so far this year but will it reign the winner in December?
