What a start to January 2026! We headed to the new Aberdale on Shackerdale Rd, Wigston.

We were down to 4 members on this trip due to illness.

The place is only 2 months old and was extremely busy for a Wednesday evening.

Another old Everard’s pub that has been skilfully remodelled into an Indian Restaurant and what a delight it was. Plenty of parking, lovely clean décor, nice seating and all at very affordable prices.

Usual poppadom’s and pickle trays dispatched at speed and refilled pickles with no questions asked!

There is a very nice extended menu and we had a tip off that the Aubergine sizzler was unreal, so we ordered one of these to accompany our mains. We were not disappointed, you can have it tossed or as a Sizzler, well worth a try.

We ordered a Dhaba Lamb off the bone, 2 X Lamb Rogan Josh and a garlic Chilli Lamb. Compliments were Mushroom rice, Pilau rice, Garlic and coriander Naan and a Garlic and cheese Naan.

For me this was the best Indian meal that I had in over a year served by very nice staff that were attentive but not intrusive. The only issue that we had was we were asked if the table could be cleared whilst a member was still eating.

If you are reading this review please do try this establishment, you will not be disappointed! This is the one to watch in 2026
